On Sunday morning, over 30,000 participants marched down Fifth Avenue as hundreds of thousands of spectators watched in in what was mostly a joyous celebration of Israel day.

Among the parade participants were New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio, as wells as members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset.

Anti-Israel protesters attempted to enter the parade area but were mostly barred from the premises. As the event is a potential terrorist target, security was tight.

However, among the spectators were a group of orthodox Jewish men, who reportedly believe they don't believe in Israel's right to exist. They also hurled hate speech at homosexual parade participants, holding signs that read, "Judaism considers male homosexuality a sin worse than murder."

Though the comparatively small group of men certainly tried their best to rain on the parade, the Israel Day event was a largely positive affair.

As Avraham Naguise, an Ethiopian-born Knesset member from the Likud Party told Haaretz, "It's exciting to march with many thousands who stand with us while others incite against us.”
