It was a vandal-soaked weekend in Europe, as over 300 Jewish gravestones were desecrated in Alsace, France, by five teenage boys who have since been apprehended.

Reportedly, one of the teens confessed to their actions, claiming that the outrage of the French community had him feeling guilty, adding that their motives were not anti-Semitic. The country's Prime Minister Mauel Valls had condemned the incident, calling it, on Twitter, a "vile, anti-Semitic act" and an 'insult to the memory" of of the dead.

The teens are between the ages of 15 and 17.

Following this atrocity, a Jewish cemetery in the northern German city of Oldenburg was also vandalized, which left dozens of swastikas plastered on the cemetery's entrance, as well as two parked cars in the vicinity.

German police are currently investigating.

Sadly, this isn't the first time the cemetery in Oldenburg has been attacked by vandals, as it's become a hot spot for right-wing extremists and other anti-Jewish mongers.

In one instance, a man was charged for shooting paintballs at a number of Jewish gravestones, and received two years probation for his crime, reports the Jerusalem Post.

Like Oldenburg, the French cemetery in Sarre-Union has also been witness to such vandalism; in 2001, 54 graves were vandalized by culprits, and years before that, in 1988, 60 Jewish headstones were overturned.
