You wonder how concerts founded on the basis of discrimination and hatred are even allowed to be staged nowadays, but then again, given all the other turmoil that is wreaking havoc on various regions of the world, I suppose it's not all that surprising.

Somehow, the international white supremacist group Hammerskin was able to organize a music festival to take place in Milan, Italy, which is attracting a plethora of skinheads, white supremacists, KKK members, neo-Nazis, you name it, all of whom are likely stoked to revel and enjoy in the presumably violent, misinformed and hate-spewed lyrics and music that will be present at Hammerfest 2014.

You'd think that Milan officials would have barred such a festival from the outset, or at the very least, refused a permit?

The gathering is expected to draw quite the crowd, appealing to neo-Nazis and right-wing extremists across Europe who are likely to attend the event taking place this Saturday. The concert is the sequel to a 2013 concert organized by a group called Skinhouse Milano that also included neo-Nazi and skinhead bands on the bill, hailing from Germany, France, Spain, and also Italy.

Somehow that concert was able to take place despite condemnation by Milan's mayor and several other political figures, which isn't entirely good news for the political figures and democrats who have decried Saturday's upcoming concert as a condemnation, pushing for it to be cancelled.

The Milan Jewish community is the latest to join several organizations that have urged Milan authorities to ban the festival from taking place, signing an appeal on Thursday that calls on “democratic forces, institutions and authorities” to “intervene in order to impede” Hammerfest 2014, reports JTA.

The appeal was signed by the Milan Jewish community and a multitude of other organizations, including anti-Fascist groups and democratic parties. The appeal is one of many that has been launched in a bid to stop the music festival from occurring.

Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia lauded the community's efforts, saying that such a festival is "unacceptable" and that any event that promotes "racism, homophobia, violence and apology of fascism" is illegal in Milan.

Ok then, so how is this festival still scheduled to take place? Can the mayor not call in a favor or something?
