Jews, Gays, Blacks Invited to Join "All-Inclusive" Montana KKK Chapter

It seems that infamous White Supremacist John Abarr is making a bid to modernize the Klu Klux Klan, in an effort to expand the group and make them more socially acceptable.

You might be asking, how precisely would Abarr hope to achieve such a feat?

By making the klan a welcoming, pluralistic, "all-inclusive" community where people aren't judged by their religion, creed, ethnicity, or even sexual orientation, but by the content of their character.

Abarr, of Great Falls, Montana, has claimed that he is no longer a white supremacist, and that he is fronting a new chapter of the Klan called The Rocky Mountain Knights. This chapter of the KKK - I don't know why he doesn't just start a group with a new name if he's actually trying to generate mass appeal here - according to Abarr, won't discriminate, and will simply work together to bring a better America.

"The KKK is for a strong America," Abarr said, reports the Great Falls Tribune. "White supremacy is the old Klan. This is the new Klan."

Abarr claims that the Rocky Mountain Knights would be focused on fighting against a "new world order." He also noted that they'd still wear robes and hoods and engage in secret rituals.

Apparently, last year Abarr met with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and is looking to organize a "peace summit" between them, the KKK, and other religious groups.

"I thought it was a really good organization," Abarr reportedly said to the NAACP. "I don't feel we need to be separate." The "former" white supremacist added that his views have evolved and shifted since he was a radical white supremacist.

Naturally, many aren't entirely sold on Abarr's new way of life. Co-director of the Montana Human Rights Network, Rachel Caroll-Rivas, commented that if he were "actually reformed, he could drop the label of the KKK."

I had the same exact thought, Rachel.

She also added that his "new world order statement" is founded in anti-Semitism and that she would caution anyone seriously considering joining this "new" klan chapter.

Others seem more optimistic, with one member of the NAACP, Jimmy Simmons, claiming that he believes Abarr's intents are sincere, though, like Caroll-Rivas, he commented that the "use of the letters KKK instills fear in people."

That doesn't seem likely to change, either.

In any event, other Klu Klux Klan chapters are outraged at Abarr.

"That man's going against everything the bylaws of the constitution of the KKK say," said Bradley Jenkins, a member of the group. "He's trying to hide behind the KKK to further his political career."
