Jewish Author Naomi Wolf Compares Israel to the Nazis....Again

The feminist political activist has yet again condemned Israeli settlements, saying it's the "same as those of Nazis cutting off the beards of Jews"

Jewish Author Naomi Wolf Compares Israel to the Nazis....Again

A new trend has been gaining momentum amonsgt liberal Jews - though I wouldn't exactly call it "new" - which finds them taking a staunch anti-Israel stance.

Groups like Jews Against Genocide, who recently staged horribly offensive anti-Israel demonstrations across various historical sites in Israel (including Yad Vashem) by participating in blood bucket challenges, to other left wing groups like Jewish Voice for Peace and J Street have become more and more popular after Israel's latest war against Hamas terrorists.

The trend led Ben Cohen, a contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Commentary, Haaretz, and others, to pen an intriguing op-ed titled "Jewish anti-Zionism? Not in Our Name," the thesis of which finds Cohen calling out these groups for embracing "anti-Zionist eliminationism in the name of Judaism."

Now, as she has before, and likely will again, Jewish feminist and political activist Naomi Wolf has lent her voice to this leftist, anti-Israel movement, in the most hurtful, and offensive, way possible: by joining the staunchest of anti-Semites (like South Africa's ANC party, like Australian neo-Nazi groups, like uniformed British political candidates, like the deranged Fidel Castro, or controversial French senators) in comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.

Via her Facebook page, Wolf recently linked a video which, she claims, shows “settlers, protected by Israeli police, singing and dancing in provocation.” There is no evidence, it seems, that the footage was shot at Jerusalem's Al Aqsa mosque, where she claims it was taken, and, as far as I can tell, it is merely a video of Jews dancing and celebrating.

Whether or not Wolf has an inside source informing her of otherwise remains unclear but, regardless, she writes, to her nearly 100,000 fans, that “It is one if the most disgusting and demeaning things I have ever seen in my life.”

“The expressions of gloating and sadism exactly the same as those of Nazis cutting off the beards of Jews. I am sorry, sorry, sorry,” she added.

No Palestinians can be seen in the video.

As previously mentioned, this isn't Wolf's first time demonizing the Jewish state. During Operation Protective Edge this summer, Wolf posted the following onto her Facebook page:

“I mourn genocide in Gaza because I am the granddaughter of a family half wiped out in a holocaust (sic) and I know genocide when I see it. People are asking why I am taking this ‘side’. There are no sides. I mourn all victims. But every law of war and international law is being broken in the targeting of civilians in Gaza. I stand with the people of Gaza exactly because things might have turned out differently if more people had stood with the Jews in Germany. I stand with the people of Gaza because no one stood with us. I went to synagogue last Friday night and had to leave because I kept waiting for the massacre of Gaza to be addressed. ..nothing. where is God?”

Several media outlets reported this summer that Israel was indiscriminately attacking civilians in Gaza, based on figures the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza provided to them. Later, a few of these publications retracted their original articles, including BBC and the New York Times, after evidence to the contrary proved that Israel was in fact NOT indiscriminately targeting civilians.

Ms. Wolf, did it not ever occur to you that there are people in Israel who also stand with the people of Gaza? That Israelis do not, contrary to popular belief, want war? That Hamas used human shields and insisted that their civilians stay in areas the IDF designated as unsafe after they warned residents to leave by dropping leaflets and sending text messages? (unprecedented in modern warfare). Or that they admitted to launching rockets from civilian areas and kicked out journalists that "didn't meet their standards"?

Being pro-Israel does not mean you have to agree with Israel's policies. But to compare the Israeli government and/or army to the Nazis, who distributed anti-Semitic propaganda and embarked on an ethnic cleansing crusade to rid the world of Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, and other non-Aryans, is simply misinformed and sick.

Are the people of Gaza not at least somewhat at fault for voting in favor of Hamas, an organization that calls for the elimination of Israel and Jews around the world in their charter? Is Hamas not to blame for putting their own people in the face of danger, and using their deaths as part of their propaganda machine?

Because if any organization should be compared to the Nazis, it's them.
