Superman to Israel's Rescue

Dean Cain says Israel represents "truth, justice, and the American way"

It's a bird, it's a plane! It's a pro-Israel supporter!

Hollywood actor Dean Cain, best known for his role in Superman in the 1990's ABC TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has joined the ranks of Mayim Bialik, Joan Rivers and other celebrities who have proclaimed their staunch support of the State of Israel.

It is Israel that represents "truth, justice, and the American way," said Cane during a segment of Fox TV talks how Outnumbered, adding that, just as the United States is a democracy threatened by terrorists, as is Israel, which deserves America's unrelenting supported.

"Clearly Hamas are terrorists," he said. "And if rockets were being fired from Mexico into my home town of San Diego, Americans wouldn't accept that for a minute, we'd be taking over that part of Mexico and making it part of California."

Cain is the latest in a long list of celebrities that have spoken out about the Gaza conflict, including Madonna, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Dwight Howard, Howard Stern, Jon Voight, Woody Allen and many more.

As Israel National News points out, the relationship between Superman and Israel has existed long before Cain.

Bernard Luber, who produced the 1950's series The Adventures of Superman, supported several campaigns by the Bergson Group to support the creation of a Jewish state in the 1940's.

Also, of course, the original Superman character was designed by a Jewish writer and artist: Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel.
