Dutch Minister Says 'Zionists Created ISIS'

Yasmina Haifi has since been suspended until further notice

There's been a lot of truly repulsive, and unbelievable, news stories circulating this week, but this one most definitely takes the cake.

The JTA reports that a Dutch government employee, Yasmina Haifi, has been suspended until further notice after posting the following statement on Twitter where she calls ISIS a Zionist conspiracy: “ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. It’s part of a plan by Zionists who are deliberately trying to blacken Islam’s name.”

Rightttt........................

So you know, the fact that ISIS is hellbent on Israel's destruction - like its Gaza counterpart Hamas - and all didn't seem to make it into her tweet.

Haifi has since deleted the tweet:

For those of you who don't read Dutch, it translates into this: "Tweet about ISIS I have just removed. Realize the political sensitivity in relation to my work. This was never my intention."

Haifi is a former project minister for the Netherlands' Cyber Security Center.

Dutch Vice Premier Lodewijk Asscher, a member of Dutch Labor (PvdA, of which Haifi is also a member) has since responded to her statement, saying “When I heard it it made me sick to my stomach.”

Ivo Willem Opstelten, a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, chimed in, confirming that Haifi will not return to her post and that she "is not the right person for this job."

“This is not about what anyone’s own beliefs are but about what one expresses, as a civil servant,” he added.

Haifi's comments come in the wake of three rallies that have taken place in the Netherlands since the ongoing crisis between Hamas and Israel began, two of which saw Dutch civilians chanting to "kill the Jews."
