European Officials Condemn anti-Semitic Rallies

Foreign ministers from Germany, France and Italy will fight "acts and statements that cross the line to anti-Semitism"

As Israel's ground invasion of Gaza continues in a bid to stop Hamas terrorists, all over the world pro-Palestinian supporters have been showing their solidarity with Gazans, much of the time by chanting hateful slurs against Israelis and calling out Israel for acts of 'genocide' while neglecting to blame Hamas for any part in the ongoing war.

In France, pro-Palestinians have attacked synagogues and kosher stores (which is clearly as anti-Semitic as it is anti-Zionist), in Germany they've staged rallies to support the Palestinians, as they have as well in Chile, Ireland, Boston, and other various parts of the globe.

Since the beginning of Israel's offensive, anti-Semitism has run rampant - both online and out there in the physical world. In an effort to counter such hate, three European foreign ministers - of France, Germany and Italy - have simultaneously condemned this anti-Semitic trend in their respective countries, adding that they will do everything in their power to prevent it.

“Anti-Semitic rhetoric and hostility against Jews, attacks on people of Jewish belief and synagogues have no place in our societies,”said Germany's Frank-Walter Steinmeier, France’s Laurent Fabius and Italy’s Federica Mogherini in a joint statement issued in Brussels.

The three added that while they respect the freedom of demonstrating and the freedom of speech, they will not tolerate “acts and statements that cross the line to anti-Semitism, racism and xenophobia.”

Even in Germany, which has worked hard to restore its relationship with the Jewish people, anti-Israel demonstrators have used anti-Semitic slogans, and even called for Jews to be gassed.

Berlin authorities have since banned the chanting of such slogans; currently, it is against the law in Germany to promote anti-Semitism or refer to the Nazi persecution of Jews in any way.
