Jewish Passengers Asked To Get Off at Auschwitz on Belgian Train

A group of adolescents somehow managed to get to the train's loudspeaker in a horrendous and cruel practical joke

As far as practical jokes go, this may be one of the most offensive and disgusting to have occurred in recent time.

Jewish passengers aboard a Belgian train were subject to a ridiculously cruel 'prank' on Jan. 31st, when a group of adolescents somehow managed to get onto the speaker system, saying in French: “Ladies and gentlemen, we are approaching Auschwitz. All Jews are requested to disembark and take a short shower.”

The offenders have yet to be identified, reports JTA. However, Belgian rail company SNCB filed a complaint regarding the hateful remarks to Belgian police.

An investigation is currently pending.

According to reports, the suspects somehow gained access to the speaker system at 5pm, during rush hour, as the train was travelling to Brussels from Namur.

The incident was also reported to Jewish lawmaker, Brussels-based Viviane Teitelbaum, who is currently working to bring the perpetrators to justice. A witness told RTL news agency that she suspected it was a group of teenagers who likely stole keys from the conductor.

Sadly, this is not the first time for such an incident to occur. In 2012, a like-minded group of hateful offenders got on board a speaker system, saying: “Welcome to this train heading to Auschwitz. All Jews are requested to disembark at Buchenwald.”
