A Jewish deliveryman for the Manhattan restaurant Mangia 57 has won a $900,000 jury verdict, after a reported 16 years of anti-Semitic abuse and racial profiling from his three employers

The man, Adam Wiercinski of Washington Heights, painted a very real image for the jurors, telling how the employers would call him a "dirty Jew," and after his rebuttal - "But I took a bath" - they would laugh at him and say "No, you still smell lie a Jew," according to his lawyer Matthew Blit.

If that wasn't enough, Wiercinski also spoke of one nightshift manager in particular, Artur Zbozien, who would 'pass gas' in front of him, and then joke it was Zyklon B, the poisonous gas the Nazis used to murder innocent victims of the Holocaust.

“How can I explain to you — he passed wind, loudly,” Wiercinski told the Post. “Everybody laughed, and then he said, ‘See? this is your Zyklon B, you stupid Jew.’

“I had to explain to the members of the jury, what is Zyklon B,” Wiercinski added. “Because they were very young; they do not know. When I explain how it was used in the gas chambers, they were very serious. Everybody [in the courtroom] was silent.”

Despite the ongoing verbal torment, Wiercinski continued to work at the restaurant, where he was employed from 1992 until 2008. “He was 50 years old,” explained Blit, his lawyer. “He said, ‘Who else is going to hire a 50-year-old delivery man.’ He was afraid.”

Understandably. And one can only imagine the kind of impact such abuse can have on a man.

In addition to the jeers he received from Zbozien, Wiercinski was also accosted by the other supervisors at the restaurant, who would dock his tips, call him a "Jewish pederast" and even throw pennies at him while making anti-Semitic jokes, according to the lawsuit.

Jurors heard testimonies for only three days, including from Wiercinski's co-workers. The verdict was reached in four hours.

“It’s a very happy ending — I’m in another world,” said Wiercinski after the verdict.

“He was so happy. It’s a moral victory for him," added Blit.
