Need a costume idea? What about Super Jew?

Welcome to Jewish Top 10s, where we compile lists that highlight the best and the brightest of everything yehudi, from delicious recipes to funniest actors, to most obnoxious Jewish wedding songs.

Halloween is coming up and once again we Jews are forced to perfect our Purim costumes months in advance. There is no question that us yehudim like dressing up in costume (anyone seen Tootsie?) but we also love celebrating for any reason and eating lots of sweets.

Naturally, we have an affinity for Halloween, however, sometimes it be a challenge to put the proper Jewish twist on your costume. With a little research we were able to find dozens of amazing and hilarious Jewish costumes that are already in circulation, whether it is dressing up as your favourite Jewish celebrity or dressing up as a latke.

Here's our list of the best Jewish-themed Halloween costumes:

HONORARY MENTIONS

FACEBOOK

It's not enough that we're on Facebook 24/7 (right?) so for those of you who get anxiety from being away from the Internet during this weekend's festivities, we've made it a little easy for you to keep networking online but in the real world.

LARRY DAVID

Famous for his ability to be infuriatingly narcissistic, the legendar creator of Seinfeld and star of Curb Your Enthusiasm is surely one of the most renowned Jews in Hollywood. This is a pretty easy and a funny costume if you have the hair for it (or if you have a bald cap handy). Plus you can get yourself into really awkward situations all night!

RON JEREMY

It’s a little freaky without the rest of the costume, but if you look hard enough you may be able to get your hands on a Ron Jeremy mask. Surely this legendary Jewish porn star is worthy of emulation. It is definitely funnier if you are a woman, and you have a male counter part dressed up as a female porn star; just my humble suggestion.

RABBI

For one night only, become the envy of all your friends! Dress up in this fantastic Rabbi costume for your chance to pretend (or not) to be wise and all-encompassing for the evening. Ask, discuss, create, and help support members of your house-party by explaining the meaning of life. That's what Halloween is all about anyways, right? Extra points if your friends dress up as Rabbis too, that would surely receive some special attention.

SIMON AND GARFUNKEL

A great and hilarious costume for couples or pals. This may be the most more subtle Jewish-inspired costume we list here, but a necessary one at that.

TOP TEN

10.

GENE SIMMONS (THE DEMON)

The legendary KISS Bassist, whose real name happens to be Chaim Witz, is actually an Israeli born Jew. This is a great costume (mind you, it does require a lot of work) whose relevance can be appreciated by generations of music enthusiasts that span from the 1960s to the present. There may be some that ask you if you're dressed up as an evil clown, and why you keep sticking out your tongue. Avoid those people.

9.

EVIL ALBERT EINSTEIN

The brilliant Jew who ushered us into the Nuclear age, along with Robert Oppenhiemer (who was also Jewish), is back! And he wants brains. Ever wonder how Einstein got so smart; well you are what you eat!

8.

KYLE BROFLOVSKI

Kyle Broflovski is a Jewish, albeit fictional, cartoon character in the hit series South Park, probably, besides Krusty the Clown, the most famous Jewish cartoon character to have been drawn. This would be be a great way for you to go out as the token Jew with three other gentile friends, as long as one of them is poor, one is your best pal, and the another is fat, obnoxious, and pure evil.

7.

JEWISH SUPERMAN

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a yid! Jewish Superman is a fun and easy twist on our favourite flying friend (if you have a big shin patch and a beard). It is also a great way to convince your friends that you're not a total nerd, wink.

6.

R JEW D JEW

For Some reason, we Jews are not only nerds but we love incorporating our Judaism into our fantasy fun. How is this for creative? All you need are two empty boxes, some glitter, other accessories and bam! You've got a Jewish version of the popular Star Wars character, and naturally, your voice will transform, becoming empty, cold and mechanic. What great fun! Sure to take the top prize at your buddy's costume contest.
