Amjad Awad, a 19-year-old Palestinian man who, along with his cousin, Hakim Awad, confessed to brutally killing five members of the Fogel family in a shocking murder spree on March 11, 2011, in the Israeli settlement of Itamar in the West Bank, has been sentenced for his crimes.

Awad, convicted in November for the murders, was sentenced on January 16th in a West Bank military court to an additional seven years on two counts of weapons trafficking and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. His total sentence comes to 132 years in prison.

Hakim Awad was handed down five life sentences plus five years, totaling 130 years.

The judges involved in the case had considered sentencing Amjad to death, saying that he "doesn't have a fragment of regret in his heart."

Their behavior immediately following the murders backs up the judges claims as not only did the Awad cousins proudly confess to the killings, they expressed no remorse, and even reenacted the attack before the security officials.

In the attacks, five members of the Fogel family were murdered in their beds. The victims were the father Ehud (Udi) Fogel, the mother Ruth Fogel, and three of their six children—Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and Hadas, the youngest, a three-month-old infant, who was decapitated.
