Shot in Jerusalem, a group of visually impaired filmmakers have made a fifty minute feature film, which is now in the editing stages.

Using alternative methods to create their project, they depend on their hearing to frame shots. “When filming, I use a tri-pod and listen to the voice of the people standing away from me. I ask them to make a sound and according to that, I aim the camera. According to the speech, I can mark to myself if they are stepping to the left or right using hearing,” said film director, Doran Ben Zion.

This project originated to help empower visually impaired people, allowing them to delve into an art form they thought was out of their reach.

For many of the participants, it’s a dream come true.
