Meet Tavi Gevinson, a 13-year-old fashion blogger from Chicago who has become quite a sensation in the world of couture.

The ever-so-eloquent tween has been blogging about fashion from the age of 11. Style Rookie is her moniker.

Although many thought Gevinson’s blog to be a fictious site created by fashion insiders (due to her professional and in-depth analysis), she has swiftly risen to fashion fame. In a few days, she will be accompanying co-creator/supervising producer Jay Levine of Fashion Television to New York for Fashion Week.  "I asked Tavi to pick three designers to interview at The New York Collections. From the schedule she chose Alexander Wang , Y-3 and Marc Jacobs," said Levine in an interview with Shalom Life. He also mentioned that the reasons for her selection would be revealed whilst in New York.

"We thought Tavi would be an interesting guest contributor on Fashion Television. Her blog has made her quite a sensation in the fashion world. Harpers Bazaar magazine had her write a short essay.  Designer Rei Kawakubo flew her to Tokyo to see her collection and she was the guest of Dior at the recent couture shows. So you could say we’re jumping on the bandwagon, but also because Jeanne will be in Vancouver for the Olympics, it was an opportunity to do something interesting and different with our collections coverage in New York," said Levine.

In an interview with The Globe and Mail, Jeanne shared “She really loves fashion, and gets it. That’s what’s so great about her. I think she is a breath of fresh air.”

Stay tuned for Gevinson's Fashion Televsion coverage of Fashion Week in New York City.
