When it was announced that Lisa Edelstein was leaving House, fans of the show from all around the world were upset. But now they have a new series to watch the TV star in action: The Good Wife. TVLine reports that Edelstein has nabbed a role on the hit CBS drama that stars Julianna Margulies.

The 44-year-old actress will play a lawyer who doubles as a poker player on the Golden Globe-winning TV series. No stranger to TV, Edestein has appeared in shows like Almost Perfect, Ally McBeal, Leap of Faith and Justice League. She’s also worked on films such as Keeping the Faith and What Women Want

Edelstein reportedly left House after her contact expired and she failed to reach an agreement for a new one. Margulies, Edelstein’s new co-star, has received a number of accolades for her starring role in The Good Wife. Since the show started, Margulies has earned two Golden Globe nominations (including one win), two Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Television Critics Association Award.

She isn’t the only one from The Good Wife who’s been nominated and/or won awards related to the show Archie Panjabi (who plays Kalinda) won an Emmy in 2009 for her role on the show. A year later, Christine Baranski (who plays Diane) received an Emmy nomination. And earlier this year, Chris Noth nabbed a Golden Globe nod for his role as Peter on the popular series.

Perhaps her new role on The Good Wife could earn Edelstein her first Emmy or Golden Globe nomination.
