Are you religious? Spiritual? Nothing at all?

I would say I am religious and spiritual. I believe in one force in the universe and I choose to live a life inspired by the Torah and the sages of traditional Judaism. It may not work for everyone, but it gives me a lot of comfort, intellectual inspiration, joy and has been the foundation for me becoming the person I want to be.

What's your favourite movie?

I like Gladiator a lot. And Breaking the Waves is a heartbreaking movie but I love it, especially because of the use of music in it.

TV Show?

Don’t watch a lot of TV; I loved Lost and Six Feet Under recently…

Musician/band?

Elvis Costello, Neko Case, Bob Dylan, Mumford & Sons. Those are some eclectic choices. And I am recently very taken with the Yeshiva University Maccabeats (of “Candlelight” YouTube sensation); their CD is constantly on in my house or in my head!

If you weren't working in the arts, what would you be doing?

Teaching Neuroscience, or being a full-time Mama to my boys.

Can you offer a piece of advice to aspiring artists?

Develop other skills; you will need them in case things don’t pan out, and also to keep perspective and sanity. And to make you a well-rounded artist!

Who's your best friend?

I have a few close people; but my friend from UCLA, Adi, is the person I wish lived in my house so I could save money on long-distance (she now lives in Atlanta and we talk every day pretty much). I feel very safe with her even though we are very different.

What's your biggest regret?

Too personal to share! I try not to have regrets, but, I guess I am indeed human.

Do you play any sports?

I used to love racquetball and running. Now that I have little ones and my knee is whacked from too much racquetball and running, I walk and do yoga when I remember to.

What are you better at than most other people you know?

Multitasking. I don’t even consider what I do multitasking, but I guess I do it well.

What is your biggest weakness?

Always wanting more.

Do you have any vices?

Dark chocolate and Manishewitz.

Is there a quote or motto that you live by?

“Intellect is the Glory of G-d” (Maimonides). And “Be the change you wish to see in the world” (Ghandi I believe).

If you could work with a specific person, who would it be?

I would like to be my Rabbi’s personal assistant. At UCLA, I loved watching how much he accomplished and how driven he was. I love his pace and find him fascinating!

Tell us something about yourself we might be surprised to hear.

I like science-fiction. I am afraid of closed spaces. I am very technology-lame and miss the days of manual typewriters.

How would you describe your personal style?

Eclectic.

What is your favorite song to sing?

Lately, the Maccabeats’ version of Matisyahu’s “One Day.”

Where is your primary residence? Do you consider this place "home"?

I live in Studio City, California. It is home, but I also consider Israel my spiritual home. I feel very “home” there.
