Over the next 20 days, Shalom Life will be presenting the Top 20 Jews In The Arts. One artist will be featured a day from various disciplines including visual arts, acting, writing, comedy and music.

We sent the participating artists the same questions with instructions to answer all, or just a few. Have fun learning about these fascinating individuals and please check back daily to compare their answers. Enjoy!

Lauren Collins, 24, is best known as Paige on Degrassi: The Next Generation. She was raised in Thornhill and attended Thornlea Secondary School. This young starlet began acting at the age of 12, appearing in various TV shows including Once a Thief, Noddy, and I Was a Sixth Grade Alien.

Collins is a member of CharActors Theatre Troupe, and has appeared in stage productions of  Alice In Wonderland and Annie.

She made her feature film debut in 2006 in Take The Lead, starring Antonio Banderas. Other notable films include Charlie Barlett, Picture This, and the upcoming Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.

Where do you go when your lacking inspiration?

Perhaps not the most eco-friendly answer, but a long drive in my car blasting some great music usually does the trick.

Where's your favourite place to travel to?

During the summer of 2009 I backpacked through Europe and had the most incredible time. Of the 15 cities I was fortunate enough to check out, London truly stole my heart. My father was born there and it was always at the top of my list of cities to visit-it completely exceeded my expectations! From the fashion to the theatre to the history, everywhere I turned I was awestruck. Highlights included The Tate Modern, Portobello Road and TOPSHOP!

Who, in your opinion, is the most beautiful person on earth?

Definitely a cheesy answer but I'd be lying if I said anyone other than my mom. People have a hard time believing she has kids in their late 20s! Her incredible spirit and perseverance give her serious brownie points too!

What's your biggest pet peeve?

Tardiness. Ironic because anyone who knows my brother would agree he is completely incapable of being on time. Still love him though.

What's your favorite movie?

Such an impossible question for me to answer so I usually just give an "at the moment" response. I just saw Blue Valentine and was blown away by the raw and REAL performances. I felt like I was watching an acting masterclass.

TV Show?

Mad Men.  Peggy Olson = dream role.

I'm very fickle in my music tastes... Currently on repeat: Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Mumford and Sons and Radiohead

Do you play any sports?

It's not a sport but I've recently become OBSESSED with Yoga. The studio I'm training at now has a really fresh, aerobic approach... Sun Salutations to Florence and the Machine? YES PLEASE.

Do you have any vices?

The Internet

Who's your favourite author?

J.K Rowling

Do you watch reality TV?

Yes... I still stand by American Idol and am completely obsessed with all things Food Network... Chopped probably tops the list.

Do you prefer road trips or flying?

Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you I have a COMPLETELY IRRATIONAL fear of flying... definitely picked the wrong profession for that! I also LOVE road trips... being in a long distance relationship, I've spent many, many hours on the train or roadtripping between Toronto and Montreal.

What one word would you use to describe yourself?

I just asked my roommate since this is a scary question to answer about yourself... LOYAL. Aw.

What item do you never leave your house without?

Blackberry. Addicted.

Tea or coffee? From where?

Coffee. Always. Americano from Starbucks or even better, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Company
