Drake is returning to Toronto to host the Juno Awards

We all know the Juno's are celebrating its 40th Anniversary this Sunday (March 27). What you may not be aware of is all the fun Juno-related goings-on in Toronto this week.

Here’s a quick look at a few of this week’s events:

Wednesday March 23

Songwriter’s Circle at Massey Hall (8 p.m.)

This is a rare and intimate opportunity to share in the songwriting process with some of our favourite Canadian artists and nominees. The musicians will share songs and stories on stage. Juno-nominated Johnny Reid will lead the discussion, perform some of his hit songs and get up-close with audience members.

Thursday March 24

Juno Block Party at Metro Square (7 p.m.)

Presented by Sirius Satellite Radio, this outdoor concert features performances by Shad, City and Colour, and Hannah Georgas. Check out more info at www.junoblockparty.ca

Friday March 25

Juno Cup at Ricoh Coliseum (7:30 p.m.)

Two of Canada’s favourite pastimes come together at last -- hockey and music. Juno Cup is a celebrity hockey game in support of MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS. The game features NHL Greats competing with Canadian musicians and celebrities. Some of this year's players include Curtis Joseph, Jim Cuddy, Kathleen Edwards, Sarah Harmer and Tyler Armes of Down With Webster.

JunoFest at various venues (9 p.m. to 2 a.m.)

JunoFest is a citywide festival featuring more than 100 artists and bands at multiple venues throughout the city. Both 2011 Juno Award nominees and up-and-coming Canadian artists will take the stage for two jam-packed nights (Friday and Saturday). Some of this year’s performers include Jesse Labelle, Kat Burns, The Balconies, Ghettosocks, The Mighty Popo and Quanteisha Benjamin. For a complete list of shows visit www.junofest.ca

Saturday March 26

Juno Fan Fare at MuchMusic (1 p.m.)

This event is another fan favourite and including interviews, giveaways and the chance to meet Juno nominees and other artists. The best part? It’s FREE! Some participating artists include Classified, Danny Fernandes, Down With Webster, Faber Drive, Hedley, Johnny Reid, Karl Wolf, Keshia Chante and These Kids Wear Crowns.

Sunday March 27

Juno Awards at Air Canada Centre (8 p.m.)

Catch Drake hosting Canada’s music awards on CTV. Live performances by Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Chromeo, Down With Webster, Hedley, Johnny Reid and Sarah McLachlan.

Happy Juno week to all!
