Drake Hosting the Junos

Toronto rapper Drake, 24, will be hosting the 40th annual Juno Awards on Sunday, March 27th. Drake is also the leading nominee with 6 nominations: album of the year, rap recording of the year, artist of the year, songwriter of the year, single of the year, and the Juno fan choice award.


Montreal’s Arcade Fire is up for five awards, and teen heartthrob Justin Bieber received four.


Ironically, Drake, Bieber, and Arcade Fire also received multiple Grammy Award nominations, to be handed out on February 13th.


Competing against Drake’s Thank Me Later for album of the year trophy include: Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, Hedley's The Show Must Go, Johnny Reid's A Place Called Love, and Justin Bieber's My World 2.0.


Vying for artist of the year include Drake, Justin Bieber, Johnny Reid, Sarah McLachlan, and Neil Young.


In the single of the year category, Drake’s Find Your Love will be up against Hedley's Perfect, Classified with Oh Canada, Young Artists for Haiti's version of K'Naan's Wavin' Flag, and k.d. lang’s version of Hallelujah that she sang at the Vancouver Olympics.


The five other rappers Drake will be competing against in rap recording of the year are D-Sisive, Eternia & MoSS, Ghettosocks, and Shad.


The Junos will be televised on CTV, live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
