Barbra Streisand in "Little Fockers"

Barbra Streisand has played Ben Stiller’s mom in both Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers. According to reports, she may be getting a new on-screen Jewish son: Canadian Seth Rogen.

Streisand and Rogen are set to star in a road-trip movie called My Mother’s Curse, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie features a stellar production team: Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 27 Dresses) will direct and Dan Fogelman (Cars, Tangled) has written the script. Evan Goldberg (Superbad) and Canadian Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live) are producing the movie alongside John Goldwyn.

The Hollywood Reporter claims Rogen and Streisand were offered the starring roles in the movie -- which is based on real-life experiences of screenwriter Dan Fogelman -- last summer. Both stars expressed an interest in the movie, but it’s only recently been greenlit by Paramount.

Seth Rogen currently stars on the silver screen in The Green Hornet. The movie features Rogen in the title role of the famous American pulp hero. The Canadian actor has a number of projects coming up, including Take This Waltz, a movie directed by Sarah Polley that was shot in Toronto. The film also features comedian Sarah Silverman and Oscar-nominee Michelle Williams.

Streisand recently appeared on the big screen, reprising her role as Ben Stiller’s mom in Little Fockers. The comedy didn’t fare well with the critics, but the movie has proven to be a box office hit.
