Adam Sandler in "Funny People"

Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg might be collaborating on a project  -- and no, it’s not for one of Samberg’s SNL Digital Shorts.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Jewish comedians are in talks to star in a movie titled I Hate You Dad, produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions.

Sandler is only about 14 years older than Samberg. However, the two comedians do share a couple of things in common: they’re both Jewish New Yorkers who’ve performed as cast members on Saturday Night Live and share the same initials. Sandler appeared on SNL between 1990 and 1995. Samberg, on the other hand, is still a cast member on the popular TV show.

Both comedians have movies coming out this year. Sandler will star in a movie called Just Go With It, alongside Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman. Samberg will appear in Friends With Benefits, a comedy starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake. The movie also features Rashida Jones, Bryan Greenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Patricia Clarkson.

Samberg is also getting ready to release a new album with his group, The Lonely Island. The video for their song, “I'm on a Boat,” has received more than 50 million views on Youtube, and their latest video is catching up. The group also features Saturday Night Live writer Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone (Hot Rod, Role Models).
