Zac Efron at the 2011 People's Choice Awards

The people have voted and guess what? Adam Sandler and Zac Efron, both Jewish, were awarded at the 2011 People's Choice Awards. Comedian Adam Sandler won the Favorite Comedic Star award, mainly for his role in the film Grown Ups. Actor Zac Efron won the Favorite Movie Star Under 25 award.

It was Just Go With It co-star Jennifer Aniston, who revealed that Adam Sandler had won the Favorite Comedic Star award by showing his name on a phone. He then went on stage and surprised everyone by sporting a black eye. For many celebrities a blow to the face, such as a black eye, would be cause to hide away from cameras, but not so with Adam Sandler. For the comedian it was simply another opportunity to tell a joke: "I wanted to see the Black Eyed Peas and the lady thought I said: black eye, please," referring to his wife and mother of his two kids.

But just to make things clear, 44 year-old Sandler was not the victim of a face-slap or a blow. According to USA Today, he sustained the injury during a basketball game. Not forgetting to plug his new movie, Sandler made sure to include his co-star, Jeniffer Aniston, in a joke: "I am a huge fan! I have never met you…Oh, wait I am in a movie with you," referring to Just Go With It, will hit theaters in February.

Sandler had another reason to be happy as his film Grown Ups, which he wrote, produced and starred in, also won the comedy movie of the year award. It made around $41 million in its opening weekend alone. Sandler is estimated to be worth over $150 million, earned from his many hit movies.

Zac Efron (Zachary David Alexander), who is idolized by teenage girls all around the world, won the best actor under 25 award as mentioned above. He starred this year in the drama film, Charlie St. Cloud. He is also staring in New Year's Eve which is currently filming. Additional award winners include Twilight: Eclipse which took home a few awards. Kristen Stewart was chosen for Favorite Movie Actress trophy, while Johnny Depp won the Favorite Movie Actor category. Jackie Chan for Favorite Action Star. The Favorite Action Film was Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3 was named Favorite Family Movie.
