Levo, who has played several roles in Israeli films such as "Kippur", and was an Israeli Commando in "Munich," will be appearing in the upcoming film "This Must be the Place."

The Sean Penn film will be directed by Italian Paolo Sorrentino in his first English-language production. The director/screenwriter first found international acclaim in 2004 for his stylish thriller "The Consequences of Love" (Le consequenze dell'amore).

This Must be the Place is the name of a song by David Byrne's band the Talking Heads, and the musician will also play a role in the film.

The story introduces Penn and Levo as cousins. Penn plays a former punk singer who travels from Ireland to the United States to say goodbye to his ailing father, who was a Holocaust survivor from Auschwitz. However, when he arrives, his father has already passed on and Penn begins an unexpected hunt for a Nazi war criminal who abused him in the concentration camps.

Levo is an Israeli who has already been in the United States for 20 years and is the one who reveals the story of Penn's father to him, which initiates the search.

The opportunity for Levo arose from sitting on the jury at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 2008, where director Sorrentino also sat. The two had common interests, and a couple years later, Sorrentino texted Levo asking whether he was interested in the role. After seeing the script, Levo was intrigued and things went from there.

The film was shot in Detroit and is now in post-production. Also starring are Frances McDormand and Harry Dean Stanton.

Known by some from having dated well-known Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman, Levo said of working with Penn: "It’s a dream come true to cooperate with such a fascinating actor."
