Apple fans behold! After a long and video-less wait, flash videos are finally available on the iPhone. With lots of flash content on the web, which up to now was not available for iPhone wielders, it is basically a revolution, and what is the magic behind this revolution, you ask? A new and innovative application that goes by the name of Skyfire.

Skyfire is an iOS (iPhone Operating System) browser that transforms flash videos, which are not supported by the device, into iPhone-friendly HTML5. It is available in the App Store now for a mere $3. While it is not the first version of Skyfire released, it is the first one that actually works smoothly and just as advertised by the creators: When you come across a site with a flash video element, it'll send that video out to the app's servers, transcode it into iPhone compatible video, and pipe it back to your iPhone.

Moreover, it takes 10 seconds to get itself situated, but once it does, the videos look pretty good. However, Skyfire's magic doesn't work with flash games or flash apps, which isn't that bad since the iPhone itself offers more than enough great apps. It doesn't work with some premium sites like Hulu as well, but for the most part you'll be able to get at all the flash video you come across while browsing, or the flash videos you discover with the built-in Skybar feature.

Within 5 hours, Skyfire for iPhone became the top grossing app, the third highest paid app overall and the top application in the Utilities category.

Essentially, they don't have enough server power to keep up with all the flash enthusiasts. "Despite our best attempts and predictions, the demand far exceeds our initial projections." the blog said. "The user experience was performing well for the first few hours, but as the surge continued, the peak load on our servers and bandwidth caused the video experience to degrade," they've added.

As a result, for a few hours, Skyfire was temporarily unavailable for download.
