Aroma Espresso Bar, Bloor St.

If you live in the Greater Toronto Area, you are being given a tasty assignment: Visit your closest Aroma Espresso Bar for fantastic Middle Eastern-inspired coffees, sandwiches, salads and baked goods.

Aroma, as you may or may not know, is a coffee chain based in Israel that has recently begun sprouting locations in North America, particularly in the GTA.

It has also been the target of the most recent round of random anti-Israel boycotts around the world.

Most recently, a boycott was held outside the Bloor West location, by individuals clad in green shirts reading “Free Palestine” on the front.

The anti-Israel activists are boycotting the fact that Aroma has outlets in Ma’aleh Adumim, what they refer to as one of the largest illegal Jewish-only settlements in the West Bank.

Their tactic appears to be boycotting without warning, likely so that websites such as lack the time to respond.

There are five Aroma locations in the Greater Toronto Area: Standard Life Building, King & York St., 121 King St. W.; Bloor & Bathurst, 500 Bloor St W.; Yonge/Eglinton Centre, 2300 Yonge St.; Rutherford Marketplace, Vaughan, 9320 Bathurst St.; and the Promenade Shopping Centre, 1 Promenade Circle, Thornhill.

Visit one today and feel good about doing your part to boycott the boycott.
