A Kassam rocket fired into Israel from Gaza in 2008.

Two Kassam rockets exploded in southern Israel early Sunday morning terrifying residents, but reportedly causing no injury or damage.

According to residents, the rocket alarm did not go off beforehand.

Four Kassam rockets reportedly landed in the Negev over the Rosh Hashanah holiday and weekend.

On Thursday, Gaza terrorists fired a Kassam rocket and mortar shell at targets in the western Negev, the mortar shell landing next to a daycare centre shortly before the children’s scheduled arrival.

In response, IDF units bombed a smuggling tunnel under the Gaza border, as well as a terrorist training camp. According to Gaza sources, two Hamas terrorists were wounded.

Shortly after Israel’s retaliation, the IDF issued a statement, saying that Israel “would not tolerate attempts to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers. We will act determination and strength against any source that uses terror tactics to attack Israel.”

According to Israel’s Maan News, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, who are the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, claimed responsibility for the mortars fired into Israel on Saturday. As of yet, however, no one has claimed responsibility for Sunday morning’s attack.

Regardless, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to attend another round of peace talks in Sharm El-Sheikh on Tuesday.

According to ynet, Netanyahu is expected to demand of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that as soon as an agreement is reached on the borders of two future states, his people will cease their demands for Israeli land.

"The foundation of the state of Israel is that it is the nation-state of the Jewish people," he said at the Israeli Cabinet's weekly meeting. "That is the real basis of the end of demands from the state of Israel and the end of the conflict between the two peoples."
