Chocolate Peanut Butter Crinkle Cookies

Crinkle cookies

Ingredients:

 

 

 

1/3 cup shortening

 

1 cup sugar

 

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

 

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

2 eggs

 

2 teaspoons vanilla

 

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

 

1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips

 

1/2 cup brown sugar

 

1/2 cup water

 

1/2 cup peanut butter

 

 

 

Directions:

 

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

 

2. In a large bowl mix shortening, sugar, baking powder and salt with an electric mixer.

 

3. Mix in eggs and vanilla.

 

4. Gradually mix in flour.

 

5. Gently mix in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

 

6. Cover and let chill in fridge.

 

7. Add brown sugar and water to a pot on medium heat.

 

8. Let simmer until it becomes a syrup and mix in peanut butter until fully combined.

 

9. Remove batter from fridge.

 

10. Gently stir peanut butter mixture into batter, being careful not to fully mix it in. You should be able to see the peanut butter swirls after mixing.

 

12.  Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

 

13. Bake for 10-12 minutes
