Scarlett Johansson Wins Theatre World Award

Scarlett Johansson has won the prestigious Theatre World Award along with 11 other actors. The Iron Man 2 star will be presented with her award on June 8.


The presentation ceremony for the Theatre World Awards will be held at New World Stages. The invitation-only ceremony will be presented by Peter Filichia.


Johansson is being recognized for her performance in A View from the Bridge. Other award winners include Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie, Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur), Chris Chalk (Fences), Bill Heck (Orphans), Keira Keeley (The Glass Menagerie), Sahr Ngaujah (Feja!), Eddie Redmayne (Red), Andrea Riseborough (Pride), Heidi Schreck (Circle Mirror Transformation) and Stephanie Umoh (Ragtime).


The annual Theatre World Awards – now in its 66th year – awards six actresses and six actors for debut performances in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
