Everything You Need to Know About Drake's OVO Festival

Our favourite Jewish rapper and musical artist, Drake, has been making media headlines as of late.

Last week, Drake and rapper, Meek Mill, got into a heated online feud over the artist’s musical lyrics and content, and whether or not he employs a ghostwriter. It seems like there's been more mention of the feud in the media than well, anything else of much more importance.

The feud even carried forward to Toronto’s 6th annual OVO festival, a 3-day fest that included J. Cole, Big Sean, YG, Jeremih, Bas, Cozz and Omen on Saturday, Kevin Hart on Friday, and Drake with special guests on Sunday, which included Kanye West, Future, Travis $cott, Pharrell Williams, Skepta, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and others.

Drake opened up the show with a slideshow showcasing degrading memes of Mill. Drake performed to the slideshow, allowing the audience to start chanting “F*ck Meek Mill!”

The rapper responded in the end, addressing the feud. “You did it to yourself boy. I’ll never let nobody disrespect my city and everything that we stand for.”

For the rest of his performance, Drake made various references to Mill, and dropped his dis track, “Back to Back” a couple of times. He even made reference to the track, “3 Peat,” which would be the third track in his takedown of Mill.

Later after the performance, Drake bonded with Kanye West and Will Smith backstage over his Meek Mill memes. It in unclear which meme the trio is laughing about in the video of them, but they seem to find it hysterical either way.

Moreover, late last night, Drake hosted an OVO after-party at Muzik nightclub in Toronto. A violent shooting occurred at the after-party, leaving two dead and three injured.

A man was found to be dead on the patio of the nightclub, while a woman was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

The three other people injured consisted of two men and one woman, who were all both taken to hospitals within the vicinity. “We do believe that there could be other victims, so we do appeal that if anybody does need assistance or if they have any information, to pass it on to us now,” said Supt. Frank Bergen.
