Known anti-Israel activist, actor Russell Brand, has apologized to a fan who he referred to as a "Nazi" during one of his stand-up shows in England.

Brand was doing a gig at the Proud Archivist venue in East London, to an audience of some 160 fans, when he began heckling a fan, claiming that when he raised his hand he was doing a Hitler salute.

Then, he said "yes the young Nazi in the back row," before the still unidentified man called back, "I'm Jewish!"

Brand reportedly apologized immediately, saying that, 'It was insensitive and anti-Semitic', according to the Daily Star.

Brand was playing a show as part of the Trew World Order Tour, which is off next to Australia and South Africa in September and October.

The controversial statement from Brand comes in the wake of his referring to a minute of silence for the victims of the Tunisia massacre was "total bullshit."

'As long as during that time, they [the Government] continue to sell arms, they continue to bomb foreign countries - they have no interest in a solution. Their only interest is perpetuating the problem and continuing to profit from it,' he said.

Coincidentally, Brand also found himself in hot water for Nazi-related speech during his acceptance speech at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in 2013.
