Last week, we learned that before Trevor Noah was tapped as Jon Stewart's replacement for The Daily Show, producers were considering both Amy Poehler (though they knew they had a fat chance at her accepting), and Chris Rock.
Oh, and the Comedy Queen of 2015, Amy Schumer.
Today, while speaking to Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show, Shumer explained why she would not be able to fill Stewart's shoes.
"I just pictured all the fittings, like all the blazers I would have to wear," Schumer joked. "I don't wanna do that."
Makes sense.
Schumer, star of the ultra-successful Inside Amy Schumer and the forthcoming Judd Apatow flick (that also features Bill Hader and LeBron James) Trainwreck, added, "If I heard that I was hosting The Daily Show, I'd be like 'give me a f**king break. It felt like it would be betting against myself."
The comedienne did acknowledge how honored she was to be even considered for a role Stewart has excelled at for the past 16 years.
"Them asking me made me cry," she said. "That they believed in me like that."
"I hung out with Jon Stewart a little bit," she added. "We had a piece of pizza and talked about the possibility of me hosting."
She also spoke about the Daily Show's decision to tap Trevor Noah as Stewart's replacement.
"Trevor will be so much better at it than I could have ever been," she said.
