Freshly released today is Judd Apatow’s very own Sick in the Head. The book itself is made of up of Apatow’s collection of interviews - some of which he conducted during his awkward teenager years during high school. The interviews features several well-known comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno and Sandra Bernhard.

\While Sick in the Head may offer some already published works, Apatow also managed to include some newer material - some of which include conversations with comediennes like Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham.

Apatow manages to coax out of Amy Schumer the story behind her joke where she compares a well-endowed man to encountering a unicorn. There isn’t much difference between the two, because if you saw “a horse with a weapon on its head” you’d be searching for your nearest escape route. Schumer’s fantastical comparison stems from a blind-date with a hockey player, set up by her sister.

“At one point, I say to him: “Are you serious?” He’s like, “No, it’s usually —“ And I’m like, whatever. In my twenties, I would have given it the old college try…” Schumer tells Apatow, continuing, “...but I’m in my thirties now and I was just like, I have Olive Garden leftovers in the fridge, see you later. It’s not happening. I’m not going to walk around New York with a gaping vagina because I had sex with you once.”

Of course, Apatow’s conversation with Dunham is a little more serious, focusing on the actress’ career goals and aspirations. The soon-to-be Scandal guest star mentioned her want of acting in more movies, as well as her hopes of writing her own novel. Just like her character on Girls!

However, Dunham is aware of the possibility that a novel might not necessarily happen.

“That’s something I have always wanted to do… It’s funny when you want to dabble in new things … and you get this realization: Oh, there are people who have spent their whole lives figuring out how to do this, and the thing I make will never be equivalent to what they’re doing,” Dunham told Apatow.

Judd Apatow’s Sick in the Head also features conversations with other funny celebrities like Louis C.K, Steven Spielberg, Chris Rock, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell.
