Iconic folk musician and singer/songwriter Bob Dylan has confirmed that he will give his final salute to David Letterman on the Late Show May 19th, the precursor to Letterman's Grand Finale on May 20th.

The last time Dylan appeared on Late Show was approximately 22 years ago, in November of 93', when he appeared during the talk show host's first season with CBS. Before that he had appeared in 84' and the show's ten-year anniversary show on Jan. 18th, 1992.

Cult hero Bill Murray will also appear on the 19th, as part of the Late Show's final three broadcasts, being advertised as a 3-Night Finale. Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam has signed on as the musical guest for May 18th, with actor Tom Hanks appearing.

As for who will appear on May 20th?

The network is keeping it under wraps for now. Should be a very entertaining a few nights though.

Fellow late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel announced that he wouldn't be competing with Letterman, and will be airing a rerun of his episode out of respect.

However, Jerry Seinfeld said in an interview recently that Kimmel could have even done more to pay a sufficient tribute to Letterman.

Considering how close Letterman and Seinfeld have been lately, it seems logical to assume that Jerry will show up for the final episode.

At the very least, it will be a star-studded cast, if the network is going to give Letterman the send-off he deserves.
