It seems not a day goes by without Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi adding something else to his collection of riches.

The entrepreneur, who was born is Israel but is said to use Great Britain as his ‘playground,’ has now extended his London-based empire to most of Camden Market.

The quirky market is home to a plethora of alternative music shops, markets, cafés and bars, and is also the birthplace of Jewish recording artist Amy Winehouse. For Sagi however, the London borough is just another group of properties to add to his vast collection.

Sagi has now purchased an additional 11 acres in the northwest area of London, making him the official owner of several trendy bars and shops. In a deal worth a staggering £95 million, Sagi is now proprietor of both Camden Wharf and the Interchange Building on Oval Road.

The latest purchase comes just a few months after his purchase vehicle, Market Tech Holdings, completed in the Stables Market, Buck Street Market, Camden Lock Market and Hawley Wharf areas of the borough. Sagi’s investment will doubtless bolster the regeneration project currently taking place in Camden, in which £300 million is being spent on a cinema, market, school and other developments.

Sagi began to make his millions back in 1999 when he founded Playtech, a gaming software development company which has helped to launch some of the most famous online gambling sites out there such as www.rubyfortune.com and YoYo Games.

Playtech was floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2006 at a value of approximately £550 million. Today, the company employs 3,500 people and is just one of the many projects which have contributed to Teddy Sagi’s $3.2 billion net worth.

2015 will surely be a prosperous year for the entrepreneur. Last year ended positively for Sagi, who, 20 years earlier, found himself locked up for insider trading. In early 2014, he managed to earn a cool £326 million by selling a 15 per cent stake in Playtech, and in December 2014, he managed to increase his fortunes even more by successfully floating his third company on the AIM.

A native of Tel Aviv, Sagi has had a good relationship with the United Kingdom in regards to business deals. His acquisition of Camden Market will serve to raise his profile even more, particularly after it was named the second most popular tourist attraction in Britain, behind Buckingham Palace.
