Dan Miller, an Orthodox Jewish man, is suing the Trump Soho Hotel in New York City alleging they served him a non-kosher turkey sandwich.

While attending a business conference at the hotel, Miller paid $146 for a kosher meal. He claims that management attempted to trick him into believing the sandwich was kosher, when in fact, it wasn’t.

According to the New York Post, Miller’s lawsuit claims that he asked several employees of the hotel where the sandwich came from and asked them to confirm that it was kosher. He was initially suspicious because kosher meals are normally wrapped in plastic twice and labeled with a seal indicating it was prepared according to kosher laws, while the sandwich he was given didn’t have a seal and was only wrapped once.

Miller states that several employees assured him that the meal was kosher and was procured at Noah’s Ark, a popular kosher deli. However, when he called the deli later in the day, they informed him that nothing had been delivered to the Trump Hotel that day.

After speaking with the hotel employees again, a food and beverage manager admitted that they had forgotten to submit his order and replaced his sandwich with a non-kosher one.

Miller was furious about discovering that his speculations were true.

“The hotel staff panicked and inappropriately responded by serving him a non-kosher meal that was made to appear kosher,” his lawsuit alleges.

His lawsuit against the Trump Soho Hotel demands unspecified damages.
