Top 50 Hottest Jewish Women of 2014 (10-1)

Welcome to Shalom Life’s 3rd annual JILF list.

We understand that beauty is oft times indescribable, inexpressible, and ineffable, and always in the eye of the beholder. Some people focus entirely on physical attractiveness, while others delve a little deeper, finding attraction in intellect, talent, personality, and a certain “je ne sais quoi”.

Allow us to present the 50 Hottest Jewish Women of 2014! Check back in every day as we unveil 10 at a time, and come back next week as we reveal the To 50 Hottest Jewish Men of 2014.

The Top 10 Women are below. Did you miss #50-41, #40-31, #30-21 and #20-11?

10. EMMY ROSSUM

Age: 28

Hometown: New York, New York

Known for: Mystic River, Phantom of the Opera, Beautiful Creatures, Shameless

Why she's a JILF: Emmy was raised in New York to a single Jewish mother. After singing Happy Birthday in all 12 keys, Emmy was asked to join the Metropolitan Opera’s Children’s Chorus at the age of 7. She performed with the choir for 5 years singing in over 20 different operas in 6 languages. Emmy’s TV debut came in 1997, making a guest appearance on Law & Order. Over the next few years, Emmy continued to guest star in various TV shows, films, and TV movies. Emmy gained international success after landing the lead role in the film version of Phantom of the Opera. She has since starred in many feature films including The Day After Tomorrow, Poseidon, and Beautiful Creatures as Ridley. Emmy currently stars as the raw, emotional, intelligent, and sexy Fiona on Showtime’s Shameless, and marked a return to her musical roots with the release of Sentimental Journey earlier this year. Check her out next in the feature films You’re Not You and Comet.

9. MEGAN AMRAM

Age: 27

Hometown: Portland, Oregon

Known for: Comedian, writer for A.N.T Farm and Parks and Recreation, Science… For Her!

Why she's a JILF: Born and raised in Portland, Megan moved to Los Angeles to pursue comedy after graduating from Harvard University. After launching a Twitter account showcasing her rather absurd, twisted, dark and hilarious humour, she gained thousands of followers in a very short period of time, including Hollywood folks. Megan was hired to write for several popular shows including Disney A.N.T Farm, the MTV Movie Awards, and eventually Parks and Recreation – where she secured a staff writing job at the age of 24. She just released a comedy book entitled Science…For Her! Speaking of the book in Jezebel, Amram wrote, “Science…For Her! is a science textbook written by a lady (me) for other ladies (you, the Spice Girls, etc.) It has been demonstrated repeatedly throughout history: female brains aren't biologically constructed to understand scientific concepts, and tiny female hands aren't constructed to turn most textbooks' large, extra-heavy covers.” The cover of the book is designed to look like the cover of a stereotypical women’s fashion magazine with hilarious headlines that read “Tips for hosting your own big bang” and “orgasm vs. organism.”

8. BAR PALY

Age: 29

Hometown: Tel Aviv, Israel via Russia

Known for: Israeli model, Pain & Gain, Million Dollar Arm

Why she's a JILF: Bar was born in Russia and moved to Israel with her family at the age of 7. 10 year later, at 17, she bravely moved to the United States to pursue a career in modeling. She quickly landed a number of modeling gigs, and additionally started to book TV acting jobs with guest spots on CSI: New York, The Start Wife, and How I Met Your Mother. Her big Hollywood break came earlier last year with a supporting role in Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain, later appearing in Million Dollar Arm co-starring Jon Hamm, She will next appear in Urge. Bar enjoys several non-supermodelesque activities including video games, rock music, and urban scavenger hunts in her adopted home of Los Angeles.

7. GAL GADOT

Age: 29

Hometown: Rosh HaAyin, Israel

Known for: Miss Israel 2004, Fast and the Furious series, future Wonder Woman

Why she's a JILF: Israeli-born Gal Gadot is best known to American audiences as Gisele Yashar in the Fast & Furious series. She won Miss Israel in 2004 and went on to represent Israel in the Miss Universe beauty pageant. In 2007, she participated in Maxim’s “Women of the Israeli Army”, focusing on models that served in the IDF. Gal continues to model internationally and has appeared in several Hollywood pictures including Date Night and Knight and Day. She appeared in the popular, yet extremely controversial, ad campaign for Castro clothing, deemed “pornographic” by members of Knesset. In this summer’s Fast & Furious 6, Gal’s character appears to have died, so her future in the franchise is unclear… but anything is possible. In the meantime, she was recently cast as Wonder Woman for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

6. NERI OXMAN

Age: 28

Hometown: Haifa, Israel

Known for: Architect, Biologist, Designer, Engineer

Why she's a JILF: Neri is the perfect combination of intellect, social activist, innovator, and beauty. Born in Israel, Neri is currently the assistant professor of media arts and sciences at the MIT Media Lab. As an architect and designer, Neri’s group is responsible for how digital design and fabrication technologies mediate between matter and environment to transform between the built and natural environments. Neri was named one of ICON’s most influential architects to shape the future and was selected as one of their 100 most creative people. Her work is part of MoMA’s permanent collection, and has been exhibited in Boston, France, Beijing, and New York. Neri’s work has earned many nominations and awards, and her mind continues to take the world by storm on a daily basis. In fact, her and her team recently created 3D-printed “wearable skins” that will help humans survive on other planets.
