James Franco hosted Saturday Night Live this past weekend, but it appears that there was one sketch from the evening that didn’t make the cut. The sketch in question, which was said to be cut due to lack of time, poked fun at the controversy in Ferguson, Mo., following the decision in the Michael Brown case.

In the sketch, cast members Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong acted as hosts, Kip and Jenny, for St. Louis morning TV show "Rise and Smile."

"Could we just show a rerun or something?" Thompson said. And when the news anchor indicated they were live, Thompson told his co-host, "Deep breath, Jenny. Just read the prompter." They also both requested that cheerful theme song of the morning show not be played, but it was anyway.

The sketch went on to feature a cooking segment with Chef Darrel, played by James Franco, and things got really awkward when he gave a recipe for healthy frittatas.

"To make it healthy, we're only going to use the whites of the egg," he said. Thompson then insisted, "Use the whole damn egg.”

When asked by Strong why he only used his first name on his cookbook, Franco’s character appears hesitant to inform them that his last name is Wilson. Darren Wilson is the police officer that shot and killed Michael Brown. "People don't get to choose their names," Franco said. "I, Darrel Wilson, am the victim here!"

The hosts then quickly transition out of the cooking segment and into a song by the quartet “The Singalingalings” to lighten the mood.

The sketch in its entirety can be seen below.
