Daniel Radcliffe Accidentally Drank Anti-Freeze in Canada

Turns out, not even Harry Potter is immune to illness. Daniel Radcliffe recently appeared on Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show to promote his new movie, Horns, and revealed that during filming on location in British Columbia he became “horrendously ill” due to accidentally drinking water mixed with antifreeze.

“It is very cold in Canada and as a solution to that, because they don’t want the water to freeze in the pipes in the trailers overnight, they put antifreeze in it,” he explained to the host.

“So it’s all non-potable water that comes out of the tap. I did not know that, so I drank a full cup of non-potable water … so I guess like half-antifreeze or whatever it would have been. I didn’t realize, and then I got horrendously ill and didn’t know why I had become so ill, and a couple of weeks later I went to drink a glass of water in hair and makeup and they were like, ‘What are you doing? Don’t do that, that’s crazy you can’t drink that water!”

Radcliffe says that he was not warned of the chemicals in the water, but some people within the film industry have expressed skepticism of his story and are wondering why he did not just opt to drink bottled water, which they claim there tends to be a lot of on film sets. There is also the fact that film sets are always subject to strict health and safety regulations. But regardless, it seems unlikely that Radcliffe will make the same mistake again and will think twice before drinking unidentified water on movie sets ever again.
