Kanye West and Kim Kardashian spoofs, erotic paintings of Seth Rogen, art films, coloring book star, soap operas, blockbuster movies… James Franco has done it all. An actor with the power to make us laugh, cry, and wonder why he posts half the things he does to his Instagram account (how many bed-selfies does it take to make you famous?), Franco always keeps audiences guessing and wanting more. With over 100 films to his name, it can sometimes be hard to pick from this talented artist’s list of work.
But we at Shalom Life did some leg work (ok, couch work may be more accurate) and we found the best of Franco’s eclectic roles.
So grab the popcorn, the Kleenex, and a seat as we count down James Franco’s ten best film roles.
10.
James Franco as Harry Osborn
Spider-Man (2002)
Although not Franco’s best role by any means, his portrayal of Harry Osborn in 2002’s Spider-Man was immensely fun to watch. He played the iconic superhero’s best friend, and mortal enemy, with conviction and gusto. He made a believably innocent Harry in the first film, a wonderfully vengeful one in the second, and we’ll all pretend the third film never came out. Sound good?
