Since last Thursday, Joan Rivers has been admitted at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City following cardiac arrest experienced during throat surgery at a nearby clinic. She is currently being brought out of a medically induced coma, with daughter Melissa releasing a statement that her mother is still on life support.
Celebrities and fans have sent an outpouring of get well messages and prayers, but fellow comedian, Sarah Silverman, had a different message for Rivers: Stop being ridiculous!
Silverman took to Twitter to send encouragement to Rivers the only way she knows how… with humor.
“We have a gig in 2 weeks and I’m not going to do it without you. STOP BEING RIDICULOUS,” Silverman wrote.
“Jesus Christ, Joan. You can’t be in the hospital. You have work to do. This is BULLSHIT,” Silverman joked in a second tweet.
Hopefully, Rivers recovers fully so she can send a few clever quips back at Silverman… and even better, join her on stage in a couple weeks.
