‘Flight’ director, Robert Zemeckis, recently completed the script with co-writer Christopher Browne for a Hollywood film version of Phiippe Petit’s incredible life story entitled ‘To Reach The Clouds’. ‘Don Jon’ star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is being lined up to star as Petit.

Petit is the famous high-wire walker from France that gained international fame after walking on a wire between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in August 1974. His inspiring feat was recently highlighted in James Marsh’s Oscar-winning documentary ‘Man on Wire’.

‘To Reach The Clouds’ is based largely upon Petit’s own 2002 memoir, and is focused on how he, with the help of his mentor, plotted to sneak up to one of the Twin Towers at night in order to string a 450-pound cable from one building to the next without being detected.

According to reports, the film will be released in 3D in order to allow audiences the opportunity to feel the excitement and fear that Petit experienced while walking the high-wire.
