Israeli born actress, Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman, in the hotly anticipated Batman Vs. Superman, directed by Zack Snyder. Ben Affleck will play Batman/Bruce Wayne, Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane, and Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman/Clark Kent, fresh off the success of this year’s Man of Steel (also directed by Snyder).

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character,” Snyder said in a statement.

Gadot is perhaps best known for her role as Gisele, in three Fast & Furious films, including 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. She also appeared in Date Night and Knight and Day. Batman vs. Superman will hit theaters on July 15, 2015.
