Comedy Central darling, Amy Schumer, has written her first feature film, which will act as a star-making vehicle for her, to aid in that much desired transition from small screen to big.
The stand-up comedian, who placed fourth on NBC’s ‘Last Comic Standing’ and is currently the star of ‘Inside Amy Schumer’, sold her script to Universal. The comedy, entitled ‘Train Wreck’, follows a woman (Schumer) who is struggling to get her life back on track.
‘Knocked Up’ and ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin’ director, Judd Apatow, has been announced as the film’s director. Although he has produced notable female-led productions, including ‘Bridesmaids’ and Lena Dunham’s HBO show ‘Girls’, this will be the first film Apatow has directed with a female lead.
The film’s synopsis may be vague at this point, but with Schumer and Apatow on board, you can expect hilarity to ensue.
