Filmmaker Convinced Music Sheet Contains Nazi Treasure Map to Gold

Dutch filmmaker, Leon Giesen, is convinced that a piece of music hold the clues to a lost stash of Nazi gold.

According to Spiegel Online, Giesen has led three digs over the past few weeks in a small Bavarian town called Mittenwald near the Austrian border. The search was inspired by a recent public revelation of an annotated score of Gottfried Federlein’s ‘Marsch-Impromptu’. The website explains that Adolf Hitler reportedly ordered his private secretary, Martin Bormann, to embed a series of letters, figures, and runes on the sheet music in the final days of World War II, which if deciphered, would provide coordinates to buried treasure.

This past December, Dutch journalist Karl Jammer Kaatee, who somehow came into possession of the document years ago, made the music score public after repeated unsuccessful attempts at cracking the code.

Now, Giesen believes that he’s cracked the previously undecipherable code. He thinks that a line added to the score reading “Wo Matthias die Saiten Strichelt” (“Where Matthew plucks strings” refers to Mittenwald and it’s previous resident, Matthias Klotz, who founded the town’s violin-making tradition. Additionally, Giesen discovered a schematic diagram of train tracks that ran through Mittenwald in the 40’s. Combined with the shortened sentence “Enden der Tanz (“End the Dance”), Giesen is convinced the hidden Nazi treasure can be found at the former site of the rail line’s buffer stops.

Surprisingly, the first few digs have uncovered an unidentified metal, with geologists calling it an “anomaly, a substance that doesn’t belong there.”

Giesen is currently seeking to raise additional funds to continue the dig.
