Pop sensation Alecia Moore aka Pink emerged on the music scene in 2000, quickly becoming known as the anti-Britney Spears. With brightly coloured short hair, dark makeup, and rock-heavy songs, Pink inspired millions of girls worldwide.

Now 34, and with six albums under her belt including the most recent ‘The Truth About Love’, Pink’s influence continues to grow. In fact, the singer has sold over 40 million albums, 20 million digital songs, and scored her first ever No. 1 album this year, according to Billboard.

To honor the Grammy-winning singer of ‘Just Give Me a Reason’, ‘Try’, and ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’, Billboard has named Pink Woman of the Year.

"It's been an incredible year and I feel so grateful to radio for sticking by me, and to the fans and friends and all of the incredible talent that I was fortunate enough to work with for this album," Pink said in a statement.

"When our 2013 mid-year numbers were released, she had the top-selling album and song for a woman, and a blockbuster, sold-out, international arena tour," Billboard magazine’s editorial director Bill Werde said in a statement.

Pink will be honored in person with an award at Billboard’s annual Women in Music event in New York in December.
