Gene Simmons, the legendary bass player for classic rock band KISS, definitely has no issues with self-confidence. He credits his high self-esteem to learning to perform at a young age, an important lesson that he decided to share with the young kids at the Sioux Falls Boys & Girls Club this past weekend.

"It doesn't matter if you become a star. If you don't believe in yourself and get up on stage, everybody is watching. You can feel the power . . . and it helps you get through life, especially when you're impressionable," Simmons said, according to Billboard.

Simmons was joined at the benefit concert by Motley Crue’s Vince Neil and Ratt singer, Stephen Pearcy. They were celebrating the opening of the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Brennan Rock & Rock Academy is part of the Boys & Girls Club of Sioux Falls, offering music education programs to kids in the city and surrounding areas.
