As of late, Barbra Streisand has ostensibly been easing back into the public eye. In December, she appeared alongside Seth Rogen in The Guilt Trip, marking her first lead role since 1996’s The Mirror Has Two Faces. Last week, it was announced that Streisand would grace the Oscar telecast with a performance, something she hasn’t done in 36 years. On Friday, Aldamisa International, Los Angeles-based production and financing company, announced that Babs has signed a directing deal with no projects specified. Her last foray in the director’s chair was for the aforesaid Mirror.

"We are thrilled to provide underwriting for a filmmaker of (Streisand's) vision, stature and accomplishment," Nadine de Barros, president of international sales and acquisitions at Aldamisa. told Variety.

Evidently, Streisand is ruminating on what specific film to commit to. She made her directing debut with Yentl in 1983, which subsequently garnered her a Golden Globe for Best Director the following year.
