Mila Kunis Body Cream Ad Banned in U.K
The advertisement for Rodial’s body sculpture cream was banned for misleading claims
Rodial assumes everyone wants to have a body like Mila Kunis’s, and they are probably right. Unfortunately, their new product might not be the way to achieve such results.
Rodial’s new British ad for body sculpture cream, featuring the ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ (according to Esquire magazine), was recently banned in the U.K for misleading claims.
The ad includes a swimwear shot from the Esquire photoshoot, along with a caption promising you can “get Mila Kunis’ Esquire look with this intensive formula.” Rodial also claims that you can “get a body to die for” with their cream, a product in which is an “A-list must have”.
After receiving a single consumer complaint, the Advertising Standards Authority decided to remove the ad. Rodial immediately responded, claiming their ads to be true, with proof from trails identifying two active ingredients. The cream manufacturer did not supply the trails for review, and therefore the ASA went forward with their decision to ban the Kunis ads.
Over the last couple years, the ASA has banned several celebrity ads including Natalie Portman’s Dior campaign and Dakota Fanning’s Marc Jacobs ad.
