Drake Receives Championship Ring, Called ‘Dumb Jew’
Canadian hip hop star, Drake, received a rare gift from Kentucky Wildcats coach, John Calipari, recently; a personalized 2012 NCAA championship ring with his nickname ‘Drizzy’ engraved on the side.
So you may be thinking; what connection does a Toronto-born rapper have with a Kentucky University sports team? Apparently, while little Drizzy was growing up, he spent his summers in Memphis with his father. Throughout the 2000’s, Drake became very close with then-Memphis basketball coach, John Calipari.
When Calipari moved to Kentucky for the 2009-10 season, Drake’s loyalty moved with him. According to ESPN, Drake became a huge Wildcats fan and “the programs most famous fan.”
Over the past three years, Drake has been spotted at several Kentucky games, and even invited Calipari and the Wildcats team members on stage during a concert in Lexington.
When Drake received the championship ring, he posted it proudly on Instagram.
A bigoted user, and apparent South Carolina fan, replied to Drizzy’s post with hateful words.
"geeohhh_626: Fuhhkkkken quit already son! You reppen the wrong university lol its all about SC you dumb Jew!!!"
Drake tastefully decided not to respond.
