Movie Central and The Movie Network plan to boldly go where TV has never gone before… inside the creative (and oft times zany) mind of William Shatner as he re-visits his days as Captain Kirk and interviews the other commanders on the Starship Enterprise.

“The Captains”, written and directed by Shatner himself, delves deep in the Star Trek world. The documentary explores the relationships between the actors, how their lives were respectively impacted by the Star Trek brand, and Shatner discusses how being James Kirk changed his life.

Shatner speaks to all five actors that have helmed the Enterprise and been given the title of Starship Captain. During these exclusive interviews, unheard stories and compelling insights are revealed, which in turn, gives Shatner a better understanding of his own life and career.

The five Captains include; Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, Avery Brooks, Scott Bakula, and Chris Pine.
“The Captains” also attempts to explain why Star Trek had the impact on society that it did (and still does), and how 45 years later, the brand is still going strong.

The documentary will be in HD, and will be available starting October 20th on TMN OnDemand and Movie Central OnDemand.

William Shatner can also be seen for one night only in Toronto at Massey Hall on November 3rd.
